CategoryCDS Views for Master Data
Purpose
This CDS view defines a basic view entity called I_PlantHierarchyNode that represents a hierarchical structure of plant nodes. It is designed to model and extract data related to plant hierarchies, providing a structured representation of parent-child relationships within a plant hierarchy. The view includes associations to other entities such as I_PlantHierarchy , I_Plant , and I_PlantHierarchyNodeText to enrich the data with additional context and textual descriptions. This CDS view provides the data to answer the following business questions: What is the hierarchical structure of plants within the organization? How are different plant nodes related in terms of parent-child relationships? What are the validity periods for each node within the plant hierarchy? What are the sequence and level of each node in the hierarchy? How can I access textual descriptions and additional details for specific hierarchy nodes? How can I filter and analyze plant hierarchy data based on specific criteria such as node type and hierarchy type? To help you decide which CDS view to use for your purposes, SAP has introduced the annotation ObjectModel.supportedCapabilities that indicates the most appropriate use cases for each CDS view. To find out what use cases are best supported by this CDS view, access the entry of the CDS view in the View Browser app and find the values for this annotation under the Annotation tab. For more information, see Supported Capabilities for CDS Views .
