CategoryCDS Views for Master Data
Purpose
This CDS view defines a hierarchical structure for divisions within an organization, allowing for the representation and analysis of division hierarchies. It provides a structured view of division nodes, their parent-child relationships, and associated metadata such as validity dates and node types. This CDS view provides the data to answer the following business questions: What is the hierarchical structure of divisions within the organization? How are division nodes related in terms of parent-child relationships? What are the validity periods for each division hierarchy node? What is the sequence and level of each node within the division hierarchy? What are the specific attributes and values associated with each hierarchy node? How can division hierarchy data be extracted for analytical purposes? To help you decide which CDS view to use for your purposes, SAP has introduced the annotation ObjectModel.supportedCapabilities that indicates the most appropriate use cases for each CDS view. To find out what use cases are best supported by this CDS view, access the entry of the CDS view in the View Browser app and find the values for this annotation under the Annotation tab. For more information, see Supported Capabilities for CDS Views .
