Purpose
This CDS view defines a hierarchical structure for customer groups, allowing users to analyze and manage customer group data in a structured manner. It provides a parent-child hierarchy of customer group nodes, enabling users to understand the relationships and dependencies between different customer groups. This CDS view provides the data to answer the following business questions: What is the hierarchical structure of customer groups within the organization? How are customer groups related to each other in terms of parent-child relationships? What are the validity periods for each customer group hierarchy node? What is the sequence and level of each node within the customer group hierarchy? How can customer group data be extracted for analytical purposes? What are the text descriptions associated with each customer group hierarchy node? To help you decide which CDS view to use for your purposes, SAP has introduced the annotation ObjectModel.supportedCapabilities that indicates the most appropriate use cases for each CDS view.
